Booker T w/ Sharmell and  Christian.

Good comedy spots here. Albany Peeps (including me holding my sign saying “I paid to see Christian”, which Christian made Booker look at before the match started, were well represented. Christian was funny here, doing a spot when Booker hit his head into the buckle, he kept going after Booker stopped doing it. Christian did the whole entire Spinarooni spot, complete with hand gesters. Booker won with ax kick. After the match, Booker did the Spinarooni.

Christain was opened up hardway some point during the match. Sharmell got up on the apron, after tripping Christain. Christain caught Booker, to knock him down. Christain then did the whole entire Spinaroni spot, complete with hand gesters.

Benoit vs Orlando Jordan

Chris Benoit defeated Orlando Jordan to retain the U.S. Title. Crowd chanted 'You tapped out!' to Jordan. Large pop for Benoit who gave many chops and incited many whoos. Jordan mounted a little offense after Benoit missed the flying headbutt, but fell to the trifecta of German Suplexes and finally a Crossface. As Benoit went for the U.S. Title Belt, Christian attacked him from behind and took the belt in his hands. At this point I thought 'Thank God Christian is getting a title push,' though Booker T ran in to save Benoit. Long came out and announced a tag match to replace the scheduled Booker vs. Christian match.

Chris Benoit and Booker T (with Sharmell) defeated Christian and Orlando Jordan. Sharmell showed up and she and Benoit incited many 'Book-er-T' chants while he was in Christian's headlocks and holds. There was a small community of peeps that signaled to Christian though. Jordan and Christian continued to isolate Booker and managed to distract the ref from his tags to Benoit. At one point Christian's head was launched right into Jordan's crotch. Benoit finally got in and cleaned house with another trifecta of suplexes. Benoit began to become isolated and Booker T made the blind tag and hit the scissors kick. Benoit hit the flying headbutt and Booker got the win after a spinarooni. The heels shuffled out and Sharmell celebrated with the victors. Hard to say whether Christian will actually get that title push.

The Triple Threat match between U.S. Champion Chris Benoit, Orlando Jordan, & Christian was ruled a no contest

This was under elimination rules. Benoit got a thunderous pop when he made his entrance. Christian was the first one out, courtesy of a Benoit roll-up. Jordan spent a lot of time on the floor, which made sense considering the main event that we didn't know about yet. Benoit was the workhorse here. Benoit got Jordan in the Crippler Crossface and JBL hit the ring. The ref called for the bell. Rey Mysterio made the save, only to be attacked by Eddie Guerrero. Batista hit the ring and the place went banana.

Booker T & Rey Mysterio over Orlando Jordan & Christian when Mysterio pinned Christian.
Good match. A bit short. Nothing really outstanding here but nothing too bad either. The crowd was really not into Christian which surprised me as Canadian crowds usually go "strictly bananas" (to borrow line from Gorilla Monsoon) for any Canadian wrestler. I figure that if he still had the momentum that he had right before he switched over from Raw he would have been the most over performer all night. Good show Smackdown writing team. You took a guy who was on the verge of being the next big star and turned him into a guy who isn't even over in his own home province! Rey gets the pin after a 619 and a West Coast Pop.

*WWE United States Championship* *Orlando Jordan vs. Booker T (with Sharmell)*
Nice match back and forth, with Christian running from the crowd to beat up
Booker T. Rey Rey makes the save and they challenge to a tag match. They
accept after a while but walk away. Rey and Booker chase them and bring them
back to the ring. It seems as if Christian might need some time away after receiving a
scissor-kick from Booker T.

Near the end of the match, Booker set both Orlando/Christian up for the
double scissor kick and it seems as if Christian's head had been sandwiched
between both of bookers boots causing instant blood from his nose.
At this point, he had put his hands to his face, rolled out of the ring, and
Jimmy Korderas(the ref) threw the "X" sign up.

The match was finished, and Christian came to get Orlando Jordan to walk to
the back, he was full of blood with more just gushing from the nose onto the
ring steps, the outside padding, everywhere.

Orlando was visibly shocked when he saw Christian in the bloody state.
Christian came in front of us to get OJ with Blood just oozing out of his
face. Booker/Rey make their way around the ring, and Booker holds up my
Canadian flag, followed by Rey Rey. Nice little fan interaction!

Christian vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Orlando Jordan (Champion)
“Buckwheat” chants were heard all throughout the match. Rey had a shirt with him he showed to crowd. On the shirt was none other than Buckwheat from the Little Rascals. Jordan got on the mic to whine. The crowd kept chanting “Buckwheat.” Jordan then grabbed the shirt from Rey and started stomping it then kicked it out of the ring. Rey began another “Buckwheat” chant. Jordan took the refs hands to cover his ears. When the match finally started, Jordan and Christian teamed up against Rey. Rey held his own to begin with but then lost his grip. There was some high-flying action. Rey eventually regained the upperhand. Jordan was knocked out of the ring and stayed there for a while. It was just Christian and Rey in the ring. Rey is ready to superplex Christian from the top turnbuckle when Jordan comes in and gets under Rey. Jordan powerbombs Rey while Rey superplexes Christian. It was an awesome spot. Rey positions Jordan and Christian for a double 619 but they both move. Jordan goes to the outside and Rey eventually gets the 619 on Christian. Jordan comes in and throws Rey out. He then covers Christian for the win.
Winner: Orlando Jordan

After the match, Rey plays to the fans and throws some masks into the audience.

Triple Threat Match: Chris Benoit d. Christian & Booker T. (w/Sharmell)

Just a normal triple threat match, really; everybody taking turns beating on someone while the odd man out takes a breather on the floor. Christian’s jawjacking at the open made him an instant target, and a few minutes later, Booker and Benoit’s tempers flared. There was this cool 3-man spot that they did towards the end. Benoit caught Christian going to the top rope and was gonna give him a superplex. Booker joined the fray and ducked under Benoit like he was gonna give him a powerbomb from that position. Both ideas come to pass. If only they can do that on PPV, ya know? Benoit rolled his hat trick on Christian, and for added measure, gave Booker a German, as well. Both were set up so that Benoit could try killing two birds with one flying headbutt. Both moved as he was in the air. Booker got Christian prone shortly after, did the Spinneroonie, and ended up missing a sidekick, landing crotch first on the top rope. Christian dumps him to the floor, then went after Benoit. Benoit countered the Unprettier into the Crossface. Christian made passive attempts to reach the bottom rope before tapping out.

Fatal 4-way, US title: Christian vs. Booker T. vs. Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan

Jordan came out first (he really needs to do something about that hair of his!), followed by Christian (red-sequined black ring gear, black and pink tights). Booker T. and his horse-faced wife Sharmell (she was prettier back in WCW) were next. Benoit came out last to the loudest reaction of the 4.

Note to all: Orlando Jordan has officially been christened “Buckwheat”, and will be called such until that unruly mop is cut (he could hear me mention this nickname). Christian spent most of the time outside the ring (started near my section and crawled around one side). As a result, most of this match was Benoit/Booker/Jordan. Lots of back and forth action, with plenty of saves from each guy. Jordan pulled out the cheap win via a low blow (ref was conveniently distracted) and roll up with a handful of tights.

Winner: Orlando Jordan

Jordan received a Scissor Kick, and Booker did the Spinarooni afterward.

Fatal Four-Way US Title Match
Orlando Jordan vs. Booker T vs. Christian vs. Chris Benoit
Benoit was the most over out of the four, with Christian getting a mostly-heel reaction. Beginning was unusual considering the match type. Benoit and Booker were paired off talking, and the same with Christian and OJ. Finally, the faces jumped the heels, and it became one-on-one in and out of the ring most of the time. Finish came when Orlando Jordan hit a low blow on Booker T and rolled him up for a cheap three.

Christen came out first with a lot of boos but I like Christen a little so I bought his shirt but he did not act like an adult as he would run and again run out of the run from Booker and complain with the ref the match started with Christen running out of the ring but finally started up with back and fourth action not much.  I can say Christen could not do his unprettier at all because Booker had most of him Booker tried to finish the match with a bookend but Christen blocked it.  Booker
finally hit the book end and scissors kick after Sharmell got on the ropes and slapped Christen in the face 1 2 3.

Chrrrrristian is in the house! With Tyson Tomko right behind Christian receives a massive pop. Out comes Shelty B! *Crowd is silent*. Wow… no reaction at all for the IC Champ, even some heat. Christian grabs the mic as fast as he could and said Vancouver is not part of the Christian Coalition. 1 minute later, the crowd is back on Christian’s side. Christian and Benjamin are confused what to do. Benjamin gets on the mic and says he’s had enough of this and walks out. Holy heel turn! Tomko runs after Benjamin and throws him in the ring. Christian grabs the mic now. “Tomko, you got the night off”. This is crazy, Christian has turned face just for Vancouver, and Benjamin was the heel. Not a lot of Shelton’s high flying moves but more of the cheap dirt play. It was fun seeing Christian wrestle a good face match. Lots of good action. However, in the end Shelton rolls up Christian and grabs the tights for the win. The best match of the night so far

At one point after Shawn did the crowd reaction to see which side he was going to throw his t-shirt to, Christian grabbed his robe and did the same thing. Only to throw it at the stagehand. Before the match started a funny thing happened, about four of us peeps started a Captain Charisma chant and Shawn pointed out our little group and Christian pointed and smiled at us. Very slow paced match and seemed to be a little rushed. I believe this is because of a legit injury to Shawn's leg. After a leap frog over the turnbuckle Shawn fell in a heap onto the mat and holding his leg. Shawn won after Sweet Chin Music. Shawn appeared to be ok, he may have just twisted it or just selling it really, really well.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian.

Christian is awesome, fact. I have never really appreciated the guy before now, but
to see him in person, and the way he entertained the crowd throughout the match,
turned me into a fan.

The high spot of this one was undoubtedly when Shelton banged Christian’s head off
the turnnbuckle twenty times (we all counted!), and Christian then proceeded to
stumble around the ring, nodding his head as if still being slammed off the corner,
much to everyone’s amusement.

Christian went for the unprettier, which Shelton avoided somehow (couldn’t really
see) and got the pin with his finisher. Tomko as hovering around outside throughout this one, but was sent to the back around midway, much to the delight of the crowd.
It was a lot of fun, with Christian giving us the finger and generally making
signals at the crowd.

April 22, 2005

Edinburgh, Scotland

The first half of the show ended with a triple-threat match for the IC title between Jericho, Christian and Shelton. Christian is definitely one of my all-time favourites and has so much presence in the ring. He came out to rapturous applause mixed with more half-hearted heat, but the guy is so great everyone wanted to cheer him : ) The match was pretty to-and-fro, with the fighting happening in a kind of round-robin style, with each man going up against one other whilst the third was out of the ring.

There was one superb bit where Jericho bounced Christian’s head off the top turnbuckle, the middle one and the bottom one around 5 times on each, then he let Shelton in to do the reverse, bouncing Christian’s head all the way back up each turnbuckle until he was comically dizzy and fell on his face. Pure Christian gold, it was! : ) After some great action including a 3-man superplex+powerslam and each of Jericho and Christian’s finishers, Shelton picked up the win with the T-Bone on Christian whilst Jericho was knocked off the apron.

Intercontinental Championship- Shelton Benjamin def. Christian
After some stalling and Benjamin getting the entire center to call Christian and asshole, the match got started and, once again, was pretty awesome. The format was much like the Survivor Series match but with Tomko being more involved. After the referee was knocked out, Shelton hit the dragonwhip kick but no one was around to count the three. Tomko then slid Christian the title belt but Shelton countered him with what looked like it was going to be the Exploder suplex. Tomko got in the ring, though, and delivered one of the most stiff kicks I think I’ve ever seen. The referee made his way back up and counted but Benjamin kicked out right at three. After a little heel miscommunication, Benjamin finally hit the Exploder and retained his title.

IC Title Match: Shelton Benjamin VS. Christian
Great match with lots of action. Tomko came with Christian & helped out his man on several occasions. An awesome series of moves & reversals were used in the finish that ended with Shelton hitting his T-Bone-like suplex. If this is any indication of there future matches, they will be VERY enjoyable to watch.

Intercontinental Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian

An excellent RAW-caliber match by both superstars. Tyson Tomko was thrown out early on by the ref so it was as fair as possible. Christian looks old compared to Benjamin, but then I guess The Brood is more than a few years ago now. Benjamin wins with his suplex (which exact name for the variation
escapes me at the moment).
(how Rude This guys is for saying Christian looks Old.)

Shelton Benjamin vs Christian for the I.C. Title

It was an o.k. match, the fact that the crowd knew a title wasn’t switching hands really took away from the anticipation. A few blown spots between the two men, but the recovered wonderfully. Shelton took the victory with the T-Bone Suplex.

There was some kind of mix up at the start, because on the tickets it stated that the show was going to start at 5.30, but we got in there at about 5.00 and it had just started. As we got in the arena Stacy Kiebler was in the ring announcing some of the matches that were going to take place. A triple threat for the IC title between Edge, Christian and Chris Jericho. Also the main event, a six man tag match between Evolution and Orton, Michaels and Benoit. Stacy then got out of the ring and did her slowly bending over thing which absolutely loved.

Christian Vs Edge Vs Jericho

I would honestly say that this match was the best all night, yes better than the main event. All came out, Christian with Tomko who later got kicked out from ringside which the crowd loved. Christian cut a promo calling everybody who was there ‘sheep shaggers’, He also talked about yesterdays loss in soccer to England, he got major heat. Edge was in the ring for about one minute in total, he kept getting knocked to the outside (He must be injured because he really wasn’t in the match at all) Jericho hit the moonsalt and got a near fall but picked up the win when he put Christian in the walls of Jericho. Amazing match, Christian was awesome.

Lilian came out to start the show. Said she was going to sing the national anthem but got booed, as i feel people thought she would sing the american anthem, not that theres anything wrong with that mind you! After a beautiful rendition of God Save The Queen she introduced Stacy Kiebler (Huge Pop), who said there would be a triple threat IC match between Y2J, Edge and
Christian. The main event would be a 6 man tag team match of HHH, Ric Flair and Batista vs Chris Benoit, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels. With that she introduced the first match:

Y2J Vs Edge Vs Christian w/Tyson Tomko

Edge came out to mixed reception, Christian came out to some good heat, Y2J
came out to a great pop (as expected). Christian got on the mike and started
bashing David Beckham and said he would never let his peeps down like he did
against portugal in the european championships (He knew his stuff). Got
booed ut of the arena for this. Great stuff.

Loads of Y2J chants. Great match. Think Edge must still be getting over his injuries as he wasnt in the match alot. Tyson got ejected after about 5 mins for tripping both Y2J and Edge. Y2J got in most of his usual spots, finished occured after Y2J slingshotted christian into edge (who was on the apron out
side the ring) and then out put christian into the Wall of Jericho, who tapped almost straight away. Great effort by Y2J and Christian, crowd was well into it the whole way through and by far the best match of the night.

 Biggest Heat
1. Christian (After that Beckham promo)
2. Coach
3. La Resistance (Us Brits seem to have a disliking for the French)

Intercontinental title match, Chris Jericho vs. Christian w/Tyson Tomko

Jericho’s using an older version of his music, for some reason, but it’s damn good to see him with some gold again. Massive “Y2J” chants, with a few “CLB” sprinkled in. “Christian, in case you didn’t realize, you’ve got about 5000 Jerichoholics calling you a CLB!” Vast overestimation by Jericho, as the Memorial Auditorium only seats 2500 (but was full nearly to capacity). After Christian got knocked out of the ring, Tomko came over to comfort him, resulting in the two outright HUGGING. Jericho put in his two cents: “Tomko, CLB does NOT stand for Cute Little Boyfriend!” Towards the tailend of the match, Tomko was ejected. Christian tapped out to the Walls. After a “You Tapped Out” chant, Christian threw a fit. (again, crowded the aisle guard rail, and this time got a full hand-slap from Jericho…didn’t think I would, because that annoying kid was back again with another sign)

Shelton Benjamin defeats Christian (with Tyson Tomko)

A lot of wasted time at the begining with the two playing towards the crowd, but they finally got serious once the “boring” chants started. Good match with both wrestlers going back and forth.

Benjamin won with a quick rollup to surprise
Christian.

Main Event. 17 Man Battle Royal

Everybody that wrestled before came out except Snitsky. Rhyno and Tomko also came out.  Simon and the Iraqi didn’t. At the begining, Eugene go in the ring. Instead, he sat in the front row and ate some candy. Then he went over and sat by the Fink. Fink
tried to tell Eugene that he was in the match.

Christian also didn’t get in right away and hid under the ring about 3 times. After Eugene finally got into the ring and wrestled a little bit, he and Orton went in the corner and Orton shook hands with Eugene. Then Orton put his arm around Eugene and started pointing things out.

Very funny. The final 5 were Kane, Randy Orton, Chuck, Eugene, and Christian. Eugene picked everyone one up except Orton and gave them an airplane spin. Chuck was the next to get thrown over and then Eugene went over by Kane.  Kane was going to choke slam Christian, but instead told him to go after Orton. Those two double teamed Orton. Christian finally got out leaving Kane and Orton. They went back and forth awhile with Orton drop kicking Kane out when Kane was on the aprion. Orton came by and slapped hands around the ring, including mine.

3 way Tag Elimination meaning once a team is pinned they are out.

It was Christian and Tomko vs. Eugene and Regal vs. La Resistance.  Eugene
came out to probably the biggest pop of the night. La Resistance came out to the
biggest heat of the night. The match started with Regal and one of the La
Resistance members (I don’t care to remember their names). The match was really good. Eugene and Christian wrestled for most of the match. They actually worked really good off of one another.

Christian is a really good in ring actor. Tomko is the biggest waste of a power house that has come along in a while. His size is the only thing he has going for him. Tomko got pinned by Eugene after Eugene hit him with the People’s Elbow. Resistance was quick back into the ring to try and double team Eugene. They got Eugene down and Regal came in for the save.

Eugene got thrown from the ring and Regal was left to take the punishment. La Resistance gets the win over Regal. After the match there were alot of USA chants. La Resistance left the ring. Eugene went all around the arena shaking hands and hugging people. He came right in front of us and ate some of this kids popcorn. It is very obvious why Eugene is a crowd favorite. He took time to see as many fans a possible. This match was a 8-10 with Eugene and Christain carrying the match.

William Regal & Eugene d. Tyson Tomko & Christian

Insane heat for Tomko & Christian to start off the show. Christian lambastes Stockton for being filled with stupid people (luckily I just got here and am not
technically a California resident yet). Likewise, huge pop for Regal & Eugene.  Eugene takes the Road Dogg style beating throughout the majority of the match, with side headlock upon side headlock applied until Eugene can hit the Rock Bottom and make the hot tag to Regal. Regal clears house and gets the pin with a shoulderblock.

First match saw Christian and Tomko vs. Eugene and William Regal.  Christian and Tomko came out to HUGE heat, tons of Christian sucks chants, Christian grabbed the mic and cut a promo saying “I can’t believe that you fans want Eugene! I knew Utah was full of Mormons, not Morons!” Eugene came out to one of the biggest pops of the night Eugene played the face in peril for most of the match, tagging Regal in for the win.
